TIPPERARY GOLF CLUB
Built in 1939 as a 9-Hole course and extended to 18 Holes in 1994 on the design of Richard Stillwell and John O'Leary this Par 72 layout provides a very enjoyable and interesting test of golf.
Most of the fairways are tree-lined with water features on the 4th and 11th whilst water hazards have been recently introduced at the 12th and 13th
Our feature hole is the 15th - a 155 yd. Par 3 " commonly known as "the fairy hole" featuring a very tricky green sloping down to a little valley unseen from the tee.
With the various changes over time many course records have been set. Dan Mackey's 68 in the Bobby Locke Competition in 1956 stood as a course record on the old 9 matched by Michael Fitzpatrick's 68 in 1967. The great Arthur Pierse shot a magnificent 66 in the Captain's Prize in 1997 to set a new record for the extended 18. With the course further extended to Par 72 Michael P. Ryan set the current standard with a 67 on his way to winning the Captain's Prize in 2006.
Practice Facilities
Next door to the Clubhouse we have the Tipperary Driving Range- a state-of-the-art Driving Range- and practice ground with 2-tier pitching green and adjacent to the 16th and 18th green a newly constructed putting green.
With a fully-stocked Pro-Shop and teaching Professional on hand all golfing needs are well catered for.
