THE CEDARS GUESTHOUSE
The Cedars Guesthouse is like taking a step back in history, with the building dating back to the late 19th century. It is believed that the Archdales (Castle Archdale) built the Cedars for their Minister, the Reverend Joseph Rudell, and it became known as the Rectory. The building remained a Rectory up until 1981 and the last resident incumbent retired in 1980, The Reverend James McMurray Taylor's position was never filled and the house was sold as a private residence. It is therefore very fitting that the new bar and bistro should be named "The Rectory", over one hundred years after it was originally a Rectory
